Meet Our Team

Jeff Hathaway is responsible for originating and executing investment banking transactions in the insurance sector. Mr. Hathaway brings 20 years of experience advising insurance retailers, MGAs, program managers, and wholesalers on mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Sherman & Company, Mr. Hathaway was a partner at Dowling Hales, where he spent 10 years, and a senior vice president at a Goldman Sachs Asset Management-backed national insurance broker. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hathaway held insurance M&A and investment banking positions at American International Group (AIG) and Marsh & McLennan, in Guy Carpenter’s investment banking group.

Mr. Hathaway is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, earned an M.B.A. from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and received a B.A. with Highest Honors in Political Science from Temple University. He maintains securities licenses for Series 7, 24, 63, and 79, is fluent in German, and holds the Associate in Reinsurance designation.
